Mike Tyson joins Jean-Claude Van Damme in Kickboxer: Retaliation

May 26, 2016 by Gary Collinson

We’re still a few months away from the September release of the Kickboxer reboot Kickboxer: Vengeance later, but with production is already underway on a sequel, we now have word that Mike Tyson (Ip Man 3) has signed on to appear in the follow-up, titled Kickboxer: Retaliation.

“This is a monumental moment for us,” states producer Robert Hickman of Our House Films (via Variety). “We have already signed on 14 champions from the sporting world, mostly decorated fighters from the UFC, being able to add Mike Tyson as a cast member adds a whole new element and excitement to the film.”

Kickboxer: Retaliation is being written and directed by Dimitri Logothetis (Sleepwalkers), and will see Alain Moussi reprising his role from Vengeance as Kurt Sloane alongside original Kickboxer star Jean-Claude Van Damme as Sloane’s mentor Durand.

Retaliation will see Sloane returning to Thailand to fight for his life against a new foe, portrayed by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Game of Thrones). Tyson will reportedly portray a convict who is forced into a world of prison fighting.
