Mina Sundwall cast as Penny Robinson in Netflix’s Lost in Space

December 18, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Mina Sundwall (Maggie’s Plan, Freeheld) has signed on to portray Penny Robinson in Netflix’s upcoming remake of the cult sci-fi series Lost in Space. The role was originally portrayed by Angela Cartwright in the original show.

Sundwall joins a cast that includes Toby Stephens (Black Sails) as John Robinson, Molly Parker (House of Cards) as Maureen Robinson, Maxwell Jenkins (Sense8) and Taylor Russell (Falling Skies) as children Will and Judy, Ignacio Serricchio (Bones) as Don West and Parker Posey (Cafe Society) as Dr. Smith.

The rebooted series is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2018, and will take it cue from the original series, following the Robinson family as they are thrown of course and find themselves light years from their destination, battling strange alien environments, and their own personal demons.
