Mutant Football League joins Xbox One Game Preview

November 4, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Sports fans on the Xbox One can now enjoy some footballing madness as gory American football game Mutant Football League joins the Xbox One Game Preview program.  Created by indie developer Digital Dreams Entertainment, Mutant Football League has been inspired by the likes of NFL Blitz and the Sega classic, Mutant League Football.  An announcement trailer showcasing the mutant mayhem can be seen below.

Mutant Football League is an arcade style American football game that sees players choose from 18 gruesome monster and mutant teams and take part in matches filled with over the top comic violence and a monstrous sense of humour.  Players can enjoy two player online or four player local multiplayer matches.

Players take control of bloodthirsty teams such as the Skeletal Deadheads, Armored Bruiserbots, Criminal Aliens and Mutated Humans and fight it out on 18 unique playing fields, each is filled with a variety of hazards and dangerous traps that will see blood and gore stain the grass.  Expect explosive landmines, buzz saws, toxic moats and lava flows to disrupt play.

Get to grips with your team in practice matches, try out Exhibition Games and Playoffs or try to survive the Full Season culminating in The Mayhem Bowl.

There are lots of opportunities to play dirty in Mutant Football League, grenades can be chucked, brass knuckle punches can be thrown, axes, clubs and even chainsaws can be wielded and if the ref spots it he can always be bribed.

Mutant Football League is expected to officially release on the Xbox One in January 2018.
