Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer and Tim Roth set for Luce

Director Julius Onah has tapped Naomi Watts (Gypsy), Octavia Spencer (The Shape of Water), Tim Roth (Tin Star) and Kelvin Harrison Jr. (The Birth of a Nation) to star in his new film Luce, which is now filming in New York.

Variety reports that the film is based upon JC Lee’s play of the same name and sees Harrison as an African teenager and former child soldier living in a suburb with Watts and Roth as his parents. Spencer will portray a teacher who becomes aware of his views on political violence.

Director Onah has recently completed work on God Particle, the new Cloverfield movie, which is set for release on February 9th 2018 and features a cast that includes Elizabeth Debicki, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Daniel Bruhl, David Oyelowo, Chris O’Dowd and Ziyi Zhang.
