Netflix is evolving the world of Resident Evil in new featurette

July 8, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

We’ve seen more iterations of Resident Evil than there are limbs on the assorted beasties featured in this brand new featurette for the forthcoming Netflix series, but here we have writer Mary Leah Sutton claiming that this version is a “new take on a franchise, but also its own thing” and The Wire and Fringe veteran Lance Reddick promising that “You care as much about the characters as you do the scares”.

Featuring a cast that includes Paola Nunez (Bad Boys for Life), Siena Agudong (No Good Nick), Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels), Ahad Raza Mir (Hum Tum), Connor Gossati (3rd Night), and Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl), you can check out the blood-splattered mayhem below…

Year 2036 – 14 years after the spread of Joy caused so much pain, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and mind-shattering creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the sinister Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.

Resident Evil swarms onto Netflix from July 14th, 2022.
