Netflix unleashes first trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein

June 1, 2025 by EJ Moreno

TUDUM 2025 brought us our first look at Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.

Coming to Netflix this fall, the iconic filmmaker is adapting one of his passion projects, and by the looks of the first teaser, we are in for a visual treat unlike anything we’ve seen from del Toro. Packed with an all-star cast, prepare for one of horror’s most classic tales twisted in a new way.

The official Frankenstein logline reads: “Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.”

This new horror odyssey is the latest project for del Toro on Netflix, following a stop-motion Pinocchio and his anthology series, Cabinet of Curiosities. With Frankenstein, the filmmaker is going all out on style, while packing the meaningful substance we’ve come to expect.

The film stars Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Charles Dance, and Christoph Waltz. Check out the teaser trailer here…
