New trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight shows his epic origin

May 8, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Warner Bros. Games has released the launch trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which is set to launch on 22nd May on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. This new trailer will take viewers on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey from a young victim of a terrible crime to the hero of Gotham City. Set against Seal’s award-winning song “Kiss from a Rose”, this trailer features cinematic and gameplay moments and can be seen below…

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight takes players on a journey starting from the origins of the Caped Crusader. Follow the young Bruce Wayne as he trains with The League of Shadows to become the hero that Gotham City needs. Players will be able to forge alliances with Gotham’s other heroes, including Jim Gordon, Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl, and take on the threat of Gotham’s Rogue’s Gallery, such as The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Bane, and more.

With a new combat system that combines fluid combos, stealth techniques, and detective skills, players will help Batman to fight crime through the streets and across the rooftops. Grapple and glide through the open world, or take to the streets in a range of Batmobiles and Batcycles, including the legendary Tumbler. While exploring Gotham, discover crimes, a variety of challenges, rewards, secrets, and a range of iconic landmarks.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is available to pre-order now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game. All those who pre-order will receive The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit at launch. Nintendo Switch 2 editions will release at a later date and are available to wishlist now.
