New video for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy reveals the Grand Unifier Raker

August 27, 2021 by Andrew Newton

A new video has been released for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy that provides gamers with an understanding of Grand Unifier Raker and the Universal Church of Truth.  In the video (see below) Bill Rosemann, former editor of the Guardians of the Galaxy comic book from 2008-10, talks about the origins of the cyber-enhanced zealot and his enigmatic organisation.

The new video shows Star-Lord and the other Guardians come face to face with the Grand Unifier himself.  Flanked by his bodyguards, the imposing Inquisitors, Raker has no interest in harming the Guardians even though Rocket has fired at him, all he wishes to do is introduce them to his organisations mysterious matriarch.  The video concludes with a dramatic scene of colossal Universal Church of Truth starship entering the scene and capturing Hala’s Hope.

Bill Rosemann says: “Collaborating closely with the team at Eidos-Montréal generated the incredible opportunity to delve into the Marvel archives, tap into some of our deepest cuts, and bring to life characters not previously seen outside the pages of classic comic books. Grand Unifier Raker, the Universal Church of Truth, and previously revealed characters like Lady Hellbender and Cosmo are just a taste of what fans should expect from this game, where decades of Marvel stories shaped this new universe. It’s original, it’s outlandish, It’s 100% Guardians!”

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy arrives on Xbox and Playstation consoles and PC on 26th October.  A cloud version will be available for Nintendo Switch on the same date.
