Nomadland and Rocks lead nominations for the 2021 EE British Academy Film Awards

Fresh from its Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award successes, Chloe Zhao’s Nomadland has pulled in seven nominations for the 2021 EE British Academy Film Awards, including Best Film which it will contest against The Father, The Mauritanian, Promising Young Woman and The Trial of the Chicago 7.

It may have missed out on a Best Film nod, but Sarah Gavron’s Rocks also earned seven nominations including Outstanding British Film and Best Director, while The Father, Mank, Minari and Promising Young Woman collected six nominations in total, followed by The Dig and The Mauritanian with five.
