Pamela Anderson almost played Anna Nicole Smith’s role in Naked Gun 33 1/3

July 20, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Coming off last year’s The Last Showgirl, Pamela Anderson continues her big screen comeback next month as she stars alongside Liam Neeson in the reboot/legacy sequel The Naked Gun, and it seems its a casting more than 30 years in the making.

Speaking to Empire to promote the upcoming film, Anderson revealed that her first brush with Police Squad! came during her early Baywatch days, and would have saw her starring opposite the original Frank Drebin Sr., played by the legendary Leslie Nielsen.

““The part that Anna Nicole played, I almost played,” said Anderson, referring to Anna Nicole Smith’s character Tanya Peters from Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult. “It was just scheduling. I couldn’t do it. But it’s good: I’d rather play this role.”

As for the role in question, the new film will see Anderson taking on the role of Beth, a femme-fatale who reaches out to Liam Neeson’s Frank Drebin, Jr. and Police Squad! after her brother is murdered. Check out the trailer here ahead of the film’s release on August 1st.

Only one man has the particular set of skills… to lead Police Squad and save the world! Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. (Liam Neeson) follows in his father’s footsteps in THE NAKED GUN.
