Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III coming to consoles this July

June 14, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Back in the year 1991, TAITO made the world a happier place by bringing Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III to gamers. This sequel to the hit Rainbow Islands (which was a sequel to the excellent Bubble Bobble) was originally released on the PC Engine and then on the Amiga, Atari ST and more.  On the 11th July, the world will once again become a happier place when it is once more released on Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Playstation consoles.

This iconic platformer sees the return of Bub and Bob in their human forms to fight through a huge variety of levels, each filled with a multitude of enemies.  Enemies and their bosses (all of which are very cutely drawn) have their own unique abilities and the only way that Bub and Bob can beat them is with their brightly coloured parasols, which have magical powers.

Parasol Stars features:

  • The return of Bubble Bobble to current gen’ consoles.
  • A collection of adorable enemies to battle with unique abilities.
  • Double the fun with 2 player mode.
  • Parasols with magic powers.
  • 8 Worlds to fight through plus 2 more unlockable worlds.
  • A rewind gameplay feature and the addition of save states.

Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III will release of 11th July on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Playstation 5 and Xbox consoles.  Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch version are available now and will start for the Xbox on 19th June.  There will be a 10% pre-order bonus on both of these consoles.
