Penguin Wars coming to western gamers early 2018

November 9, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Dispatch Games have announced that they will be bringing the hit Japanese title, Penguin Wars, to the US and Europe early 2018.  The game, originally released in Japan in 1985 will keep all the gameplay that made the original popular and will be released on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch.  A new trailer has been released for the Nintendo Switch and can be watched below…

Penguin Wars will still use the classic rules of using 10 balls to throw at each other but now a whole new set of rules will be introduced that players can enjoy while listening to a remixed version of the music from the original game .

There are a couple of game modes available for players to enjoy:

Story Mode follows Riley and his friends on their journey to Gira Gira land.  There will be plenty of items to collect and candy to be earned that can be used to evolve characters.  Each character within Riley’s team will have a different skill set to help on the journey.

Online Vs Mode allows players to take on their friends or people in Gira Gira Land using characters that have been evolved in the story mode.

Local Vs Mode is one for Nintendo Switch gamers and allows matches to be fought while in the same room as your friends thanks to the Switch’s Tabletop mode.

“Penguin Wars is blast of fast, fun and frenetic gameplay!” said Brian Schorr, Founder of Dispatch Games. “This is a perfect party style game you will play for hours on end – especially with your friends.”

Console gamers can expect to see Penguin Wars early 2018.
