Quantum Leap reboot adds Ernie Hudson and three more

March 11, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Having found its lead last week in Raymond Lee (Kevin Can F**k Himself), NBC’s Quantum Leap reboot pilot has now added four more to its cast, with Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson boarding the project along with Nanrisa Lee (Bosch), Mason Alexander Park (Cowboy Bebop) and newcomer Caitlin Bassett.

The pilot for the potential follow-up to the beloved 90s sci-fi drama picks up 30 years after Dr. Sam Beckett’s disappearance and follows Dr. Ben Seong (Lee), a world-renowned physicist working on the relaunched Quantum Leap project who ends up stuck in the late 1980s with amnesia after using the technology.”

Hudson is set to take on the role of Herbert “Magic” Williams, who is described as “a Vietnam veteran and head of the time travel project at Quantum Leap. Using a bit of politicking and his military know-how to keep the Pentagon at bay, Magic buys the team some time to rescue Ben but expects answers once he’s back.”

Lee is playing Jenn, head of security at Quantum Leap headquarters, with Park as Ian, chief architect of Quantum Leap’s AI program, and Bassett as Addison, project lead at Quantum Leap HQ who operates state-of-the-art technology to communicate with an individual time traveling in the past.

As yet, there’s been no confirmation as to whether Sam Beckett will be making an appearance in the pilot, although it’s said that preliminary talks with Scott Bakula have taken place to gauge his interest in a potential return to the role he last portrayed in the Quantum Leap finale back in 1993.
