Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore to headline David O. Russell TV drama

August 10, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Oscar-winners Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore are set to headline a new TV drama project from director David O. Russell.

Details on the series are scarce, but the site reveals that it is a crime/cop thriller which may be set in the 1990s, and is designed to run for multiple seasons. Megan Ellison of Annapurna Pictures, who collaborated with Russell on American Hustle and Joy, is on board to produce, and it’s said that the project is being shopped to cable networks and streaming services, where it is expected to bag a series order.

Russell’s latest film Joy was released earlier this year, and saw De Niro appearing in the cast alongside Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.
