Rumour: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to introduce love interest for Rocket

May 16, 2019 by Gary Collinson

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 now moving forward again under returning director James Gunn, a rumour has surfaced online suggesting that the new film will introduce a couple of new characters, including a love interest for Rocket Raccoon.

Now, before you start getting too creeped out, this isn’t going to be a somewhat unsettling case of beastiality, as the love interest in question is said to be that of Lylla, a sentient otter who, in the comic books, is Rocket’s soulmate from his home planet of Halfworld. The character has previously been referenced in the original Guardians movie, where she was listed as an associate of Rocket:

The rumour comes by way of a tweet, which claims that Guardians Vol. 3 will introduce the High Evolutionary as Rocket’s creator, while Drax the Destroyer will also discover that his daughter remains alive.

Rocket's creator is the High Evolutionary, Drax is in for a big surprise when he discovers his daughter is alive. Rocket also gets a love interest in the form of Lylla. Nebula and Star Lord will grow into closer friends.

Now, Twitter isn’t of course the most reliable of sources, but it’s worth pointing out that the poster Roger Wardell also shared a number of Avengers: Endgame tweets back in December 2018, and… well you can judge for yourself:

In Ragnarok Thor lost a lot of things but what he loses in Avengers 4 is unexpected. He loses his figure, expect him to look a bit like his old friend Volstagg. #Marvel #Avengers4 trailer #Avengers4 #Thor #Spoilers

Avengers 4 will feature the very FIRST character switching from TV to film, and that man is none other than James D'Arcy's Edwin Jarvis. #agentcarter #marvelleaks #marvelspoilers #avengers4 #mcu

Robert Redford is another returning face to Avengers 4. He will share scenes with Tony Stark and everybody's favorite trickster Loki, Scott Lang is also there but in typical fashion, REALLY messes up. Big time#mcu #avengers4 #marvelleaks #marvelspoilers #robertredford #ironman

Brock Rumlow and Jack Rollins return in Avengers 4 in a recreation style scene of the famous elevator scene in Winter Soldier but there's a MAJOR difference in this one.#mcu #avengers4 #crossbones #wintersoldier #marvelleaks #marvelspoilere #hydra
