UPDATE: Garret Dillahunt has now confirmed on social media stating that he hasn’t been cast in the role of Negan, but is simply lobbying for the part.
Rumours surrounding who might play Negan in The Walking Dead have floated around the internet for quite some time; Kevin Durand and Jon Hamm have been said to be the alleged frontrunners, with Hamm even expressing an interest to work with Robert Kirkman earlier this year.
Now, this is simply speculation at the this point, but talk is circulating suggesting that Garret Dillahunt – star of Justified and Deadwood – has been cast in the role, which stems from a post on Twitter where he revealed he’s busy reading Compendium Three of The Walking Dead comic.

Whilst this is no indication that he has actually been cast on the show, the general reaction is that he will play Negan and will show up some time in Season 6. But of course, take this with a pinch of salt until we hear official confirmation
