Rumour: Ryan Coogler wanted for Marvel’s Black Panther

October 14, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Fresh from his rumour about Moon Knight joining Netflix’s Marvel universe, Heroic Hollywood’s El Mayimbe has been gazing into his crystal ball for another rumour, this time regarding the director for Marvel’s Black Panther.

According to the site, Ryan Coogler – director of Fruitvale Station and the upcoming Rocky spinoff Creed – has emerged as Marvel’s pick for the job, after Ava DuVernay (Selma) opted to pass.

As always with Mayimbe, this could be little more than speculation / an educated guess, so take it with a pinch of salt for the time being…

Black Panther is set for release on February 16th 2018, and will see Chadwick Boseman reprising his role from next year’s Captain America: Civil War.
