Rumoured casting shortlist for Domino in Deadpool 2

October 21, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Although we’re yet to get any kind of official confirmation that Domino will appear in Deadpool 2, Collider is reporting that casting is underway for the role, with ten actresses said to have tested with director Tim Miller and the film’s producers.

According to the site, the actresses under consideration include Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane), Sienna Miller (American Sniper), Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre), Sylvia Hoeks (Overspel), Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire), Ruby Rose (Orange Is the New Black), Eve Hewson (The Knick), and Kelly Rohrbach (Baywatch).

More of a longlist than a shortlist, really…

if you’re unfamiliar with the character of Domino, the character is the result of a government programme designed to genetically engineer the perfect weapon. The only subject to survive, Domino – who possesses the powers of telekinetic probability manipulation – would go on to become a mercenary, as well as the partner of Cable and a member of X-Force and the X-Men.

As yet, we know very little about Deadpool 2, save that it will reunite director Tim Miller with star Ryan Reynolds and screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, while Cable will also feature. Production is slated to get underway some time next year, ahead of an expected 2018 release date.
