Slow Horses season 4 images reveal Hugo Weaving, Joanna Scanlan and James Callis joining cast, premiere set for September

June 28, 2024 by Ricky Church

Apple TV+ has released the first batch of images from Slow Horses season four, revealing the additions of Hugo Weaving (The Matrix), Joanna Scanlan (No Offence), Ruth Bradley (Humans), Tom Brooke (Preacher) and James Callis (Battlestar Galactica) to the ensemble cast.

Season four, which is now set for a two-episode premiere on September 4th, opens with “a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking the already unstable foundations of Slough House.” No information has been revealed about the characters Weaving and the new cast will play. The season will be directed by Adam Randall (I See You).

Slow Horses stars Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Jonathan Pryce.

The series is adapted from Mike Herron’s spy novels Slough Horses with the upcoming season based on the fourth book Spook Street. It follows Oldman’s Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but misanthropic leader of spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.

Apple has already renewed Slow Horses for a fifth season earlier this year that will be based on London Rules, the fifth book of Herron’s series.

Slow Horses will premiere on September 4th.
