Snowfall expansion announced for Cities: Skylines Console Edition

October 14, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Fans of Cities: Skylines Console Edition will soon be able to face the challenges of winter in the brand new expansion, Snowfall.  Snowfall is a weather focused expansion adding lots of new features to the game.  Players on both consoles can expect to start getting their citizens wrapped up warm on the 14th November.

The Snowfall expansion will include a new set of maps that throws the city into the middle of a harsh winter.  These maps provide a whole new challenge for budding mayors that will see them having to keep the streets clear of snow and the neighbourhoods warm.  Players will have access to snowplows, city wide heating systems and a new streetcar public transport system for when the winter really hits.

This expansion will feature:

  • Now is the Winter of This Content: Rain and fog for existing maps, plus a “Winter” map theme with snow and new challenges – snowplows, road maintenance, and more
  • The Streetcars You Desire: New public transit options, including street trams and easier management of existing lines
  • World Warmth, Too: Cold weather increases demands for electricity, unless new heat systems are in place

Snowfall will be the first of several expansions and add ons coming to Cities: Skylines Console Edition.
