Sophie Turner teases Sansa’s role in Game of Thrones season 7

December 3, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Sansa Stark has had a pretty tough time of things throughout the first six season of Game of Thrones, but having survived her various ordeals at the hands of the Lannisters and Boltons and reclaimed Winterfell during the ‘Battle of the Bastards’, things may finally be looking up for Ned Stark’s eldest daughter in the seventh season of the HBO fantasy series. Of course, this being Game of Thrones, it certainly won’t all be plain sailing for Sansa as we head into the final two season of the epic fantasy series.

Speaking to EW, actress Sophie Turner has teased what’s in store for Sansa in the upcoming season, stating that: “She’s seemingly in control for the first time – and it really suits her. She’s kind of having a bit of a power trip. But she’s also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds. What overall excites me about this season is that main characters are coming together and it feels like things are ramping up. It’s really exciting and all feels like it’s coming to a big conclusion.”

The seventh season of Game of Thrones will get underway on HBO in the summer.
