Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey featured on EW’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix cover, first plot details revealed

December 7, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Entertainment Weekly has unveiled the cover to the latest issue of its magazine, which features a first look at Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey for the next chapter in 20th Century Fox’s main X-Men franchise, X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Check it out here…

The site also offers up the first official plot details, confirming that the X-Men will be going cosmic, as well as potentially confirming those rumours about the Skrulls making an appearance:

After the team is dispatched to space for a rescue mission, a solar flare hits the X-Jet and the surge of energy ignites a malevolent, power-hungry new force within Jean – played by Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner – the Phoenix. While Jean is both the hero and villain, Dark Phoenix also introduces an other-worldly (and for now, top secret) shape-shifter (Jessica Chastain), who attempts to manipulate Phoenix for her own agenda.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set for release on November 2nd, 2018. Simon Kinberg is directing a cast that includes franchise veterans Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler) and Evan Peters (Quicksilver) alongside new additions Jessica Chastain and Lamar Johnson.
