Spider-Man: Far From Home has a scene that “people are going to hate”, says Tom Holland

May 12, 2019 by Gary Collinson

In the wake of the release of the latest Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer – which gave us our first look at the post-Endgame (and post Iron Man) world of the MCU – actor Tom Holland has revealed to Comic Book that the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel has a scene that fans are going to “hate”.

“There’s a scene in this film where audiences will feel like they’ve been punched in the face,” said Holland. “Even filming it, I remember walking out and then watching it again on the monitors and asking Jon, ‘Are you sure that’s okay?’ And he’s like, ‘No, it’s not. People are going to hate this scene.’ But it really, phew, God, it’s pretty crazy and it’s very similar in the way that it’s very tense and it whips the rug from underneath your feet. It’s pretty awesome.”

As Comic Book points out, Holland’s comments can be interpreted in a number of ways, such as an emotional death for one of the main characters, or perhaps even an Iron Man 3-style Mandarin twist which leaves some fans up in arms. Which one it is, we’ll find out in a couple of months…
