Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Perfect World Entertainment recently announced the fourth expansion for Star Trek Online. Titled ‘Victory is Life’, this expansion takes star ship captains to the Gamma Quadrant in a brand new story started by the invasion of the mysterious Hur’q. Along with this new story comes new features, an increased level cap plus 12 classic DS9 characters and the talents of the original actors who played them. The 12 actors making their return to Bajoran space include Armin Shimerman as Quark, René Auberjonois as Odo, Nana Visitor as Kai Kira Nerys, Chase Masterson as Leeta, Alexander Siddig as Dr. Julian Bashir, Jeffrey Combs as Weyoun and Brunt, Andrew Robinson as Elim Garak, Max Grodenchik as Grand Nagus Rom, Aron Eisenberg as Nog, J.G. Hertzler as General Martok, Salome Jens as the Dominion female Changeling and Bumper Robinson as Jem’ Hadar soldier Dukan’Rex.
Several decades have passed between the end of DS9 and the Star Trek Online universe and the station and characters have changed to represent that passage of time. There have also been changes to the roles of the characters such as Kira Nerys became Kai of the Bajoran people and Dr. Julian Bashir being secretly augmented.
New features coming with this latest expansion include a 6 episode long storyline, a new queue and new progression systems, raise the level cap to 65, add a Sector Battlezone and add the Jem’ Hadar as a new faction.
Victory is Life expansion will arrive this June.
