The Star Trek franchise is set to return to where it all began next year as Captain Christopher Pike takes command of the U.S.S. Enterprise for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and actor Anson Mount has taken to social media to announce that filming has wrapped on the first season of the Star Trek: Discovery spinoff series.

Featuring the crew of Gene Roddenberry’s original Star Trek pilot from 1965, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds features Anson Mount as Captain Pike alongside Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romijn who also reprise their Discovery roles as Spock and Number One, a.k.a. Una Chin-Riley.
Filling out the crew of the Enterprise in Strange New Worlds are Jess Bush (Skinford) as Nurse Christine Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding (Jagged Little Pill) as Nyota Uhura, Babs Olusanmokun (Dune) as Dr. M’Benga, Christina Chong (Black Mirror) as La’an Noonien-Singh, Melissa Navia Melissa Navia (Billions) as Erica Ortegas and Bruce Horak (Warehouse 13) as Hemmer.
