Star Wars: Ahsoka adaptation incoming from Marvel Comics

February 5, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Following on from their adaptations of The Mandalorian and         , Marvel Comics has now announced that last year’s Disney+ series Star Wars: Ahsoka is coming to comic books courtesy of writer Rodney Barnes and artists Steven Cummings and Georges Jeanty.

“It is truly an honor to be adapting Ahsoka,” said Barnes regarding the eight-issue adaptation, which is set to launch in July. “The character is the essence of classic Star Wars: layered, complex and fun! I hope the fans enjoy this adaptation as much as the series it’s adapted from.”

“We’re big fans here at Marvel, and we’ve been wanting to do something with Ahsoka for a long time,” added Editor Mark Paniccia. “By the Force our dream finally came true!”

STAR WARS: AHSOKA will deliver all the action and drama from the show as it follows Ahsoka’s galaxy-spanning quest to bring Grand Admiral Thrawn to justice. The saga also featured the villainous Morgan Elsbeth, introduced mysterious Force-users Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati and marked the live-action debuts of various characters from the Star Wars Rebels animated series including Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger. Relive all these thrilling moments and more in a brand-new way!

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Star Wars: Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson as the titular Ahsoka Tano, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, David Tennant as Huyang, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Evan Whitten as Jacen Syndulla, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Carson Teva, Wes Chatham as Captain Enoch, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO and Ariana Greenblatt as young Ahsoka Tano.

Star Wars: Ahsoka is available to stream now on Disney+.
