Star Wars: Ahsoka trailer teases the arrival of the Heir to the Empire

We knew he was coming, and Lucasfilm has kicked off Star Wars Celebration 2023 today by teasing the arrival of the Heir to the Empire, a.k.a. Grand Admiral Thrawn, with the release of the first trailer for Star Wars: Ahsoka.

The series sees Rosario Dawson reprising her The Mandalorian and Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett role as Ahsoka, and the trailer also gives us our first look at live-action versions of Star Wars Rebels’ Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Chopper, along with a couple of Dark Jedi (?) played by Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sahkno. Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson as the titular Ahsoka Tano, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan, David Tennant as Huyang, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth and Ivanna Sakhno in an as-yet-unrevealed role.

Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ August 2023.
