Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett will fill in the blanks between Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian

June 16, 2021 by Gary Collinson

While Boba Fett made his grand return to the galaxy far, far away in season two of The Mandalorian, his reappearance raised a lot of questions – not only moving forward, but also with regards to the five year period from his apparent death in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi through to his reclaiming his armor from Din Djarin.

Well, according to actor Temuera Morrison, not only will the upcoming Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett pick up from the post-credits scene of The Mandalorian season two, with Fett having assumed control of the Tatooine underworld, but it will also fill in some of the blanks surrounding the character post-Original Trilogy.

“[We’re] going to see his past and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back,” Morrison told Rotten Tomatoes. “Somebody pointed out he’s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now’s the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him.”

“It was just an honor to be asked back,” he continued. “I just hope I meet the expectations, because you can somehow kind of feel those things… definitely on The Book of Boba, you can get more of a sense and a feeling for if it’s working or not. So I think with being involved with that last series of The Mandalorian and having a reentry, it has created a little bit more expectation. But yeah, I feel good. We’ve done some good work.”

Meanwhile, in news that should please fans who enjoyed Boba’s action-packed return in ‘The Tragedy’, Morrison also went on to reveal that director Robert Rodriguez returned to helm episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, and that there are “some wonderful directors involved”. Hopefully we’ll get more details soon.

Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett is set to premiere on Disney+ in December.
