Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink set for Spider-Man 4 alongside Tom Holland

March 12, 2025 by EJ Moreno

Has Sony Pictures and the MCU found their Mary Jane? We will see if Marvel sparks this up, as rumors have instantly swirled of the character’s arrival with the news of Sadie Sink’s casting in Spider-Man 4.

Deadline confirmed that the Stranger Things star will appear alongside Tom Holland in the new film. Marvel and Sony did not confirm or deny.

Sadie Sink’s role is yet to be revealed, but with her iconic red hair, many fans have speculated that she’ll star as Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker’s iconic love interest, although there are reports linking her to the role of the X-Men’s Jean Grey.

Sink could also tackle the role of Gwen Stacey, but MCU Spider-Man fans have long hungered for the iconic Mary Jane and Peter Parker relationship. With Holland’s Peter Parker moving on from Zendaya’s Michelle/MJ due to the circumstances of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s time for a new arc for Peter.

Sink recently wrapped production on the final season of Stranger Things and will appear next in the musical O’Dessa, which premiered at SXSW.

Destin Daniel Cretton will direct, with Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige producing. Plot details are still being kept secret as production seeks the right story. Holland is reportedly influential in pre-production.

Spider-Man 4 is set for July 31, 2026.
