Suicide Squad 2 shooting next year, cancelled Justice League movie details, INSANE Lego set and more – Daily News Roundup

September 1, 2017 by admin

IT’S GOOD TO BE BAD AGAIN

Although it was reportedly on the fast track over at Warner Bros., it looks like the sequel to Suicide Squad is some time off yet. According to Variety’s Justin Kroll, the director-less Suicide Squad 2 will go into production in fall 2018 following scheduling difficulties with Will Smith’s Aladdin and Gemini Man. Read more here.

KING PRAISES IT

Something that will be coming out very soon, however, is the adaptation of Stephen King’s It – and the man himself has been praising the film. “I had hopes, but I was not prepared for how good it really was. It’s something that’s different, and at the same time, it’s something that audiences are gonna relate to.” Read more of his comments here.

MORTAL

Justice League will finally be hitting cinemas in November this year, but it wasn’t the first attempt to bring the DC’s finest heroes to the big screen. Back in 2007, George Miller was set to helm Justice League: Mortal starring DJ. Cotrona as Superman, Armie Hammer as Batman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Common as Green Lantern, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Adam Brody as The Flash, and finally Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter. Not only that, but Jay Baruchel was set to play Maxwell Lord – and the actor has revealed a huge scene from the movie that would have seen Superman take on Wonder Woman. “There’s a scene where Maxwell Lord brainwashes Clark and all of a sudden this guy’s got Superman as a weapon. But in order for me to do this – to get in to a Kryptonian brain – I start bleeding out of every fucking orifice because it takes that much to get into the head of a Kryptonian. And then I turn him into Red-Eye Superman, and there’s this big ass fight between him and Wonder Woman where he breaks her wrists.” Read more here.

DARK WRITER

The long-gestating Justice League Dark has a new writer following Warner Bros. heading back to the drawing board with Deadline is reporting that Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) has signed on to polish the script. Read more here.

INSANE LEGO

Got some spare time on your hands? Well the biggest ever LEGO set has been unveiled as part of Star Wars’ Force Friday. LEGO revealed its LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon (75192), an enormous 7,541-piece set which dethrones the 5,922 piece LEGO Taj Mahal yesterday which you can check out here.

HOMECOMING SEQUEL

The writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming (well, at least two of them) are returning for the sequel. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are in final negotiations with Marvel and Sony to return to pen the script for the wall-crawler’s second solo movie.
