Taylor Sheridan’s Landman adds Jon Hamm

February 16, 2024 by Ricky Church

The casting continues as Taylor Sheridan fills out the ensemble for his next big TV series Landman led by Billy Bob Thornton (Bad Santa). Joining the show is Jon Hamm (Mad Men) as an old colleague of Thorton’s oil magnate.

Based on the podcast Boomtown, Sheridan’s Landman is set in West Texas and follows the “upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fuelling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

Hamm will play Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy Norris (Thornton).

Hamm joins a cast that includes Thornton, Ali Larter (Heroes), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Mud), Kayla Wallace (When Calls The Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville) and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia) and Demi Moore (Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans).
