Horror is a great genre for low-budget filmmakers, but that doesn’t mean it translates well to all low-budget mediums. Back in the day, many shows tried to cash in on the 80s surge in terror by producing schlock for TV. It got so bad that a parody of the genre, Elvira’s Movie Macabre, gained momentum in the mid-80s!

But just because popular consensus says one thing doesn’t mean it’s true. The truth is there were a lot of good horror TV serials that utilized their atmosphere well. As a result, they’ve aged surprisingly well, and here’s our friends at Marvelous Videos with a selection that are worth seeking out…
