The Crow reboot to start pre-production in 2018

October 30, 2017 by Matt Rodgers

“It can’t rain all the time”. That is unless you’re trying to reboot cult Brandon Lee property The Crow, and the downpour in question is bad luck.

There have been rights issues, the shutdown of Relativity Media, a revolving door of potential leads – Luke Evans, Jack Huston, Jason Momoa – and a roll-call of directors, from Stephen Norrington, to Corin Hardy, who in a twist similar to that Eric Draven’s fate, left the project before being resurrected by Sony earlier this year.

The latest development comes from creator of The Crow, James O’Barr, who told ScreenGeek the following titbit at the Los Angeles Comic-Con:-

“As of right now, it’s slated to start pre-production in February with a very talented British director named Corin Hardy. I’m involved in every aspect of the film and working closely with the director.”

Hardy has just finished directing The Conjuring spin-off, The Nun, so it makes sense in terms of timing. As of yet there is no official word on who will be wearing the leather get-up and face paint, although Jason Momoa was the last name attached to the role.

If this does eventually emerge from the shadows of development hell, who do you think should be our new Eric Draven?
