The DCAU will continue with Justice League Infinity

April 22, 2021 by Ricky Church

The DC Animated Universe – or DCAU for short – remains one of the most impressive runs of cartoon series based off  a comic property. Consisting of classic series such as Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond, the DCAU culminated with Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Ending in 2006, Justice League Unlimited has often been named a high point of the DCAU and now fans can get ready for a return to that series in the comic continuation Justice League Infinity.

Justice League Infinity will be written by Justice League Unlimited‘s producer James Tucker and writer J.M. DeMatteis with artwork from Ethen Beavers. The series, which will be digital first before releasing as print issues, will take place after the series finale of Unlimited. You can check out some preview images of Beaver’s art from the first issue below as well as Francis Manupul’s cover for Justice League Infinity #1 and Scott Hepburn’s variant. The official synopsis reads:

There is a being wandering the universe searching for its true purpose, but what it finds out on the farthest edges of the cosmos will change not just our universe, but many! Meanwhile, the war for the throne of Apokolips arrives on Earth, and the true ruler will only be decided one way: Who can destroy the Justice League?

What do you think of the return of the DCAU? Are you excited to see a continuation of Justice League Unlimited? Let us know on our social channels at @flickeringmyth…

Justice League Infinity will go on sale digitally May 13 and in print July 7. It will run for 14 digital chapters and 7 printed issues.
