The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Comic-Con trailer and character posters released

July 23, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

With The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power set to premiere this September, San Diego transformed into Middle-earth today as Hall H played host to Prime Video’s epic 90-minute panel for the hotly-anticipated fantasy series.

Showrunners J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay, Executive Producer Lindsey Weber, and 21 members of the ensemble cast were on hand to discuss their love for J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic world, while composer Bear McCreary took to the stage with a 25-piece orchestra and 16-person choir to deliver an exclusive live performance of highlights of the show’s soundtrack.

In addition, we also got a huge batch of character posters for the series, as well as a new trailer which focuses on the long-feared reemergence of evil in Middle-earth and offers a glimpse at some of the spine-tingling creatures and characters set to do battle with the heroes of Middle-earth; check them out here…

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power stars Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Maxim Baldry, Ian Blackburn, Kip Chapman, Anthony Crum, Maxine Cunliffe, Trystan Gravelle, Lenny Henry, Thusitha Jayasundera, Fabian McCallum, Simon Merrells, Geoff Morrell, Peter Mullan, Lloyd Owen, Augustus Prew, Peter Tait, Alex Tarrant, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, and Sara Zwangobani.
