The Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City international trailer delivers a much darker tone for the reboot

October 11, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

When Sony Pictures debuted the first trailer for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, it’s fair to say that the reaction split viewers down the middle, with most commenting on the strange choice of music. Well now they’ve released an international trailer for the new R-rated action horror reboot based on the iconic video game series, and it’s sans singing, which results in a much darker beast altogether; check it out below…

Returning to the origins of the massively popular RESIDENT EVIL franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City stars Kaya Scodelario (Crawl) as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell (Arrowverse) as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) as Leon S. Kennedy, Lily Gao () as Ada Wong, Chad Rook (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Richard Aiken, Neal McDonough (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) as William Birkin and Marina Mazepa (The Unholy) as Lisa Trevor.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City arrives in US cinemas on November 24th and in UK cinemas on December 3rd.
