The School for Good and Evil adds Laurence Fishburne and Michelle Yeoh

March 13, 2021 by Ricky Church

Netflix’s The School for Good and Evil just got a little bigger as Deadline reports that Laurence Fishburne (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum) and Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery) have joined the cast.

Fishburne will play The Schoolmaster while Yeoh is Professor Anemone. They join Sofia Wylie and Sophia Anne Caruso as the film’s leads Agatha and Sophie with Kerry Washington as Professor Dovey and Charlize Theron as Lady Lesso. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) is directing from a script by David Magee and Laura Solon.

The School for Good and Evil follows “best friends Sophie and Agatha, who discover where fairytale legacies go to school: the School for Good and Evil, where ordinary boys and girls are trained to be fairy tale heroes and villains. With her princess ambitions, Sophie knows she’ll be picked for the School for Good and join the ranks of past students like Cinderella and Snow White. Meanwhile, Agatha, with her grim aesthetic and wicked cat, seems a natural fit for the villains in the School for Evil. Yet soon the girls find their fortunes reversed; what what if the mistake is the first clue to discovering who Sophie and Agatha really are?”

The School for Good and Evil was first written by author Soman Chainani in 2013. The first book sold 2.5 million copies worldwide with the series running for six books, concluding last year with The School for Good and Evil: One True King.
