Blumhouse’s The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon limited series finds its showrunners

April 1, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Blumehouse Television and WWE have announced that Emmy nominated writers Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster (Transparent, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood) are set to serve as co-showrunners up the upcoming limited series The United States of America vs. Vince McMahon.

“Vince McMahon is a living legend,” said Fitzerman-Blue and Harpster as part of the official announcement. “We are thrilled to tell his larger than life story with our partners at Blumhouse and WWE.”

“Blumhouse is thrilled to be partnering with Noah and Micah on this project,” added Chris McCumber, President, Blumhouse Television. “Their ability to bring iconic characters to life in a nuanced, dramatic, and fully realized way is the reason they are the perfect fit to tell the story of The United States Vs. Vince McMahon.”

The limited series will feature the first ever scripted dramatic portrayal of a chapter in WWE’s history and takes place in the 1990s, when then-WWF chief Vince McMahon found himself targeted by the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of New York and was indicted by the U.S. government for allegedly supplying anabolic steroids to his wrestling talent. McMahon refused to agree a plea deal, and was subsequently acquitted by a jury at trial.

Fitzerman-Blue and Harpster will write The United States of America vs. Vince McMahon, as well as executing producing with Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, Jason Blum, Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold.
