The Venture Bros. movie finale has completed production

March 31, 2023 by Ricky Church

Word has come that Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer have completed production on their long-awaited The Venture Bros. finale film after it was announced two years ago.

The Venture Bros. has been one of Adult Swim’s most popular animated series for nearly 20 years. Running for seven seasons with many long hiatuses in between as Publick and Hammer wrote their scripts and animated was developed overseas, The Venture Bros. was cancelled in late 2020 after it had already been renewed for an eighth and final season with work having already begun at that point in time. Nearly a year later, however, the pair announced they had been given the greenlight to make an animated film that would serve as the grand finale to the series.

The news came from Nico Colaleo, the creator of the animated series Too Loud! and Ollie & Scoops, who wrote on Twitter “I’ve been a Venture Bros fan for 20 years, and have waited nearly 5 years since the last new episode.. then cancellation… and now I’m at Titmouse about to watch a screening of the finished movie finale and I’m sooo happy.” When asked about its release, he said “It is done. No idea when it’s airing though.”

The Venture Bros. will be released on blu-ray before airing on HBO Max 90 days after the home media release. We’ll have to wait for further details on the release window, but if its completed and already screening for insiders we can hope it will be soon.

Doc’s latest invention will either bankrupt the Ventures or launch them to new heights, as Hank searches for himself, Dean searches for Hank, The Monarch searches for answers, and a mysterious woman from their pasts threatens to bring their entire world crashing down on them.
