The X-Files Origins novels to feature Mulder and Scully as teenagers

February 22, 2016 by Gary Collinson

We don’t yet know if David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be back as Mulder and Scully for more episodes of The X-Files (although given the ratings for the new limited series, you’d have to imagine Fox will pull out all the stops to make it happen).

However, fans will be able to enjoy more adventures this year, albeit with teenage versions of the FBI agents, as Entertainment Weekly is announcing that Imprint/Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group are to publish two novels under the banner of The X-Files Origins.

Agent of Chaos will be written by Kami Garcia (Beautiful Creatures) and will follow a 17-year-old Fox Mulder, with Devil’s Advocate by Jonathan Maberry (Patient Zero) will centre on a 15-year-old Scully. Both books will take place in 1979 and explore the life-changing events that set the duo on their path to becoming the FBI agents we know from the show.
