THUNDEROUS BOX OFFICE PERFORMANCE

After only a couple of weeks at the box office, Thor: Ragnarok has stormed past $500 million worldwide. Ragnarok has already surpassed the $449.3 million grossed by the original Thor movie in 2011, and will presumably topple Thor: The Dark World’s $644.6 million ahead of the release of Warner Bros.’ rival superhero blockbuster Justice League a week tomorrow. NOT ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED

Another movie heading into cinemas later this year is Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and with so many questions left open from Star Wars: The Force Awakens Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has revealed that not all of them will be answered. “I think [Rian’s] done an exceptional job of taking these new characters and some of the legacy characters and moving us to this next place,” said Kennedy. “He doesn’t answer all the questions, I will say that up front. But there are certain questions he does answer in a really wonderfully provocative way, and I think there’ll be some surprises that people aren’t expecting.” Read more here.

RETURN OF ELIJAH PRICE

After the release of Split, M. Night Shyamalan wasted little time in getting to work on it’s spin-off movie Glass, which features the return of characters from Unbreakable. And we’ve now got the first set photo of a returning Elijah Price played by Samuel L. Jackson. Read more here.

NO STRINGS ON THIS

Guillermo del Toro has revealed in a new interview with IGN that his darker adaptation of Pinocchio has been shelved. “It’s not happening,” he said. “But the idea was to do Pinocchio during the ascension of fascism in Italy, with Mussolini. It was a good time to discuss the idea of being a puppet or being a human, but you know, it’s not in progress.” Read more here.

THE THIRTEENTH DOCTOR

After releasing a teaser video of Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor for the next series of Doctor Who, the BBC released a brand new image of the Time Lord yesterday next to the TARDIS. Check it out here.
