Tim Blake Nelson joins Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two

January 8, 2023 by Gary Collinson

Although production wrapped a few weeks back, THR has dropped a new piece of casting news for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two as it brings word that Tim Blake Nelson will appear in the second part of the acclaimed science fiction epic.

Nelson’s role is being kept under wraps, but he’s one of several additions for the concluding chapter of the Frank Herbert adaptation alongside Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction) as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh (Black Widow) as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler (Elvis) as Feyd-Rautha, Léa Seydoux (Crimes of the Future) as Lady Margot, and Souheila Yacoub (A Brighter Tomorrow) as Shishakli.

Nelson was last seen on screen in Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley and also lent his voice to the filmmaker’s Pinocchio adaptation from Netflix this year. Among his upcoming roles is a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the actor set to reprise his The Incredible Hulk role as Dr. Samuel Sterns / The Leader in 2024’s Captain America: New World Order.

The newcomers join the returning Timothee Chalamet (Paul Atreides), Zendaya (Chani), Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck), Stellan Skarsgård (Baron Vladimir Harkonnen), Dave Bautista (Glossu Rabban), Charlotte Rampling (Gaius Helen Mohiam) and Stephen McKinley Henderson (Thufir Hawat).

Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

Dune: Part Two will release on November 3rd 2023.
