Time Bandits TV series cancelled after a single season

September 17, 2024 by Ricky Church

The Time Bandits adventure through time has come to an early end as Apple TV+ announced they have cancelled the comedy series after one season.

Time Bandits is an Apple TV+ original series based on Terry Gilliam’s 1981 film. It follows an eccentric group of bandits as they travel through time and space on epic adventures while on a quest to save the parents of their latest recruit.

Though the original film is a beloved cult classic, the Time Bandits series did not prove popular enough for Apple even with a sizeable audience in the UK. The series was created by Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris and Taika Waititi and was led by Kal-El Tuck and Friends alum Lisa Kudrow.

Are you shocked/disappointed that Time Bandits won’t be back for a second season? Let us know on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…

Embark on a comedic, high-stakes journey through time and space with a ragtag group of thieves and their newest recruit: an 11-year-old history nerd. Together, they set out on a thrilling quest to save the boy’s parents — and the world.

Time Bandits stars Lisa Kudrow, Kal-El Tuck, Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rune Temte, Charlyne Yi, Rachel House, Kiera Thompson, James Dryden, Felicity Ward, Francesca Mills, and Imaan Hadchiti, with special appearances from Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement.
