TNT President provides an update on Teen Titans series

May 14, 2015 by Gary Collinson

While Warner Bros.’ DC television output is set to expand this coming TV season with Supergirl [watch the trailer here] and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow [watch the trailer here], one project that is absent from this year’s slate is TNT’s planned Teen Titans adaptation Titans.

Well, if you were concerned that the network had pulled the plug on the project, fear not as TNT President Kevin Reilly has confirmed to TV Line that Titans is still very much alive, although it appears to be on hold for the time being.

“[Akiva Goldsman’s] been very busy doing some other things,” said Reilly. “I sat down with Akiva and said — and he ultimately agreed — that the [TV] landscape right now is well-serviced on the superhero front. So what space is this going to inhabit? And really what he wants to do is be very true to the source material. I think it’s going to end up being a very, very interesting offering. I think it’s going to be excellent.”

However, we may not have long to wait before the teen superheroes assemble, with Reilly then adding “maybe this summer” when asked for a possible time frame on casting and production.
