Tom Payne cast as Jesus in The Walking Dead season 6

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Tom Payne (Luck) has signed on to appear in the sixth season of The Walking Dead in the recurring role of Paul Monroe, a.k.a. Jesus.

First introduced in issue #91 of the comic book series, Jesus is “a resident at the Alexandria Safe-Zone who moved to the community from another group called the Hilltop Colony. The character is a rare logical man and skilled adviser with a strong sense of morals and values who is well-adapted to the new world.”

Payne joins fellow newcomers Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) and Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie) in season six, which gets underway on October 11th.
