Trailer for psychological thriller The Knife starring Nnamdi Asomugha

July 18, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

A poster and trailer have arrived online for the psychological thriller The Knife following its award-winning world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival back in June.

The film marks the directorial debut for former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, who co-wrote the feature alongside Mark Duplass, and sees a young family pushed to breaking point after a detective unearths dark secrets they have fought to remain buried after an intruder enters their home.

Along with Asomugha, the cast includes Melissa Leo, Aja Naomi King, and Manny Jacinto. Check out the trailer below…

After the mysterious appearance of a stranger in their home, a young Black family must deal with the fallout of their choices, big and small, as a steadfast detective tries to crack the case over the course of one fateful night.

The Knife arrives in cinemas on August 15th.
