While we wait to see which actors will be taking over from Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as the leads for the second season of True Detective, creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto has been speaking to To the Best of Our Knowledge (via SlashFilm) about what we can expect from season two, revealing that it will take place in California and revolve around three leads…
“Right now, we’re working with three leads. It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season one. The characters are all new, but I’m deeply in love with each of them. We’ve got the entire series broken out with a couple of scripts, and we’ll probably start casting in earnest in the coming months.”
So, with the comment “casting in earnest in the coming months”, it seems that the producers may have already started early discussions with potential additions to the cast (Jessica Chastain, perhaps?), but we’re likely to have a bit of a wait on our hands before we get any official news.
