Twin Peaks limited series delayed to 2017

July 9, 2015 by Justin Cook

It looks like Twin Peaks fans will have to wait a little while longer to see the show’s return to the small screen.

Although the upcoming Twin Peaks limited series was originally slated to premiere next year, it has instead been pushed back to 2017.

Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost revealed the news in a June interview with the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, which has just surfaced now. He stated, “The challenge for us is to try and come back and raise the bar above what we did the last time. We’re coming back with season 3 of Twin Peaks after a 25-year absence. We’ve finished the scripts, we start production in September, and that will be coming out on Showtime in 2017.”

On the bright side, however, David Lynch is still on board to direct all 18 episodes of the revival series, and write each episode alongside Frost.

Such Twin Peaks cast members as Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Dana Ashbrook, Richard Beymer and Catherine E. Coulson are already confirmed to be reprising their roles for the show, which is set to air on Showtime.
