Video Review – Emilia Perez is 2024’s most WTF movie

October 3, 2024 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a video review of Netflix’s Emilia Perez…

There’s nothing quite like seeing Emilia Perez for the first time. This one-of-a-kind thriller pulls no punches and gives you a unique experience you’ll never forget.

Led by the powerhouse trio of Karla Sofía Gascón, Zoe Saldaña, and Selena Gomez, the Spanish musical comedy crime thriller follows the journey of four women in Mexico, each in pursuit of their own happiness.

Emilia Perez premiered at the Cannes film festival earlier this year and was the subject of several rave reviews and festival awards, including the Jury Prize and Best Actress for the ensemble cast.

Check out the review below, and be sure to follow us on YouTube for more reviews, exclusive interviews, and other video content…

From renegade auteur Jacques Audiard comes Emilia Pérez, an audacious fever dream that defies genres and expectations. Through liberating song and dance and bold visuals, this odyssey follows the journey of four remarkable women in Mexico, each pursuing their own happiness. The fearsome cartel leader Emilia (Karla Sofía Gascón) enlists Rita (Zoe Saldaña), an unappreciated lawyer stuck in a dead-end job, to help fake her death so that Emilia can finally live authentically as her true self.

Emilia Perez will be released in select theatres on November 1st and premiere on Netflix on November 13th.
