Video Review – Train To Busan Presents: Peninsula

August 18, 2020 by EJ Moreno

Peninsula, 2020.

Directed by Yeon Sang-ho.
Starring Dong-Won Gang, Jung-hyun Lee, John D. Michaels, Daniel Joey Albright.

Join our host EJ Moreno for a review of the new zombie action film, Peninsula. This follow-up to 2016’s Train To Busan is a gripping and entertaining film, even if it doesn’t come close to the magic of the first entry. With enough action and zombies to keep genre fans happy, EJ breaks down where the movie loses its way a bit. Without the heart and soul of the original, it’s hard to come close to the magic that was created originally.

Four years after South Korea’s total decimation in TRAIN TO BUSAN, the zombie thriller that captivated audiences worldwide, acclaimed director Yeon Sang-ho brings us PENINSULA, the next nail-biting chapter in his post-apocalyptic world. Jung-seok, a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.
